The world is rapidly changing and becoming more complex. It is more important than ever before that children gain social and financial skills to learn to get along and get ahead in life.
Socially and economically empowered children and young people who act as agents of change in their own lives for a more equitable world.
AFLATOT The early years of a child offer a unique opportunity to shape their development. In the Aflatot curriculum three to six year-olds gather the building blocks of social and financial literacy before they reach primary school.
Contextualisation stands as a cornerstone in Aflatoun’s educational programmes, ensuring content resonates effectively within diverse contexts. This process aims to elicit feedback from stakeholders, ensuring learning materials are not only relevant but also engaging and enjoyable for young learners across different settings. Understanding socio-economic dynamics is integral to tailoring materials effectively, ensuring they address the unique needs of each community. In response to partner feedback, Aflatoun refines youth entrepreneurship lessons to cater to the distinct needs of each country and target demographic.
With this key element in mind, we decided to partner with Think Human Foundation, for a project that aims to develop Social, Financial and Entrepreneurship Education for adolescents in Colombia, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Mexico, through contextualisation, thematic workshops, and entrepreneurship fairs to showcase the work of students and empower them.
