Scaling Quality Life Skills and Education

Scaling Quality Life Skills and Education

Access to quality education remains elusive for many young people worldwide. Even those who complete basic-level education often lack relevant learning opportunities to develop essential skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes for personal and community success. Current youth education policies fail to address the unique vulnerabilities faced by young people, particularly girls and young women, hindering their ability to transform their lives through essential knowledge and skills acquisition.

Over a decade of implementation has shown that Aflatoun’s content and active-learning methodologies effectively promote awareness of rights and responsibilities, fostering the development of crucial life skills in children and young people. Presently, Aflatoun collaborates with over 40 governmental agencies globally to integrate Life Skills and Financial Education into national curricula.

With the support of Vitol Foundation, Aflatoun aims to socially and economically empower youth in DR Congo, Ecuador, Haiti, and India, equipping them with the necessary social and financial skills for informed decision-making about their well-being. Our strategy involves a systemic approach, working closely with government stakeholders in these countries through curriculum design workshops, teacher training, and technical support to integrate core concepts into national curricula.
