De Nationale Postcode Loterij has awarded Aflatoun International with an extra grant of 1,950.000 euro in 2021. The grant is for three years and will allow Aflatoun to rollout the Aflateen+ adolescent economic empowerment programme in three countries in West Africa: Benin, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Senegal.
Together with existing Aflatoun Network Partners, we will be able to reach 28,000 adolescent girls and boys. In parallel, Aflatoun will work with the national authorities to integrate life Skills & Financial Education into their national curricula.
This grant is not only very important because it will enable us to reach vulnerable adolescents in these three countries, but it is also an important signal among international development actors that one of the biggest donors in the world is willing to commit a significant amount towards Social and Financial Education.
