Observa A.C., México

Observa A.C., founded in 2012, is dedicated to fostering a Culture of Peace by promoting social education and human rights. Their mission is to contribute to this cause through various initiatives aimed at empowering communities.

The organisation focuses on building a Culture of Peace through entrepreneurship and economic development. By providing communities with the necessary knowledge and practical tools, they enable these communities to create and sustain their own growth processes. This is achieved through workshops and specialised training sessions held in schools, benefiting students, teachers, and families within the school environment.

To date, their projects have positively impacted over 6,000 students and 200 teachers in the State of Mexico. Through these continuous efforts, Observa A.C. strives to make a significant difference in the lives of those they serve, fostering peace and development for a better future.

Our Partnership and Impact

In partnership with Aflatoun International, Observa A.C.  has made a notable impact on schools in the State of Mexico, as reflected in the feedback from participating teachers. Several key observations emerge from these testimonies:

  1. Preparation for social projects: Teachers have observed an improvement in students’ readiness to engage in social projects. There is a noticeable increase in interest, integration, and understanding of teamwork and pursuing shared goals. This readiness indicates that the project successfully develops entrepreneurial and teamwork skills among students.
María Teresa Ortega Cervantes, a fifth-grade teacher at Escuela Primaria General Manuel González, notes that students demonstrate increased interest, teamwork, and a clear understanding of the project’s objectives after engaging in the program’s activities. Their eagerness to continue participating underscores the value they place on this educational initiative.
  2. Impact on learning: Teachers report that students are gaining a clearer understanding of project development processes, along with enhanced leadership and problem-solving abilities. The incorporation of playful and collaborative activities is particularly appreciated, as it encourages student participation and critical thinking.
Mayira, a Sixth B teacher at Hermen Gana School, also commends the project for providing children with a clear methodology for project development, fostering collaborative work, and nurturing essential life skills.

  3. Continuity of the project: Most teachers express a strong interest in continuing their participation in the project in the next academic year. They recognise the value of these activities for the holistic development of students and are committed to supporting the project’s ongoing success.
Alan Hernandez Hernandez, a sixth-grade teacher at the same school, emphasises the importance of Aflatoun in helping children recognise their ability to contribute to the well-being of their school and community through purposeful projects. His enthusiasm for ongoing participation highlights the significance of such activities in student development.
  4. Need for support: Some teachers highlight the necessity for continued support and training to effectively implement the project in the classroom. They acknowledge that additional guidance could enhance the quality and impact of the activities conducted.
