Emirates Foundation Hosts Aflatoun to Present Workshop on the Integration of Social and Financial Education in the UAE

Collaborative initiative aims to enhance financial literacy and awareness across the UAE.

The Emirates Foundation, in collaboration with Aflatoun, successfully hosted a Financial Education Advocacy Workshop, aimed at sharing insights from their latest report on the integration of social and financial education in the UAE.

This initiative is part of a broader vision to enhance financial literacy and well-being across the nation, bringing together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to collaborate on a unified strategy for financial education.

As part of the Emirates Foundation’s Federal Initiative to promote financial well-being and sustainability, the workshop highlighted key findings and strategies from Aflatoun, a globally recognized non-profit organization focused on social and financial education.

This report aims to elevate and unify financial education for all students in the UAE, further strengthened by partnerships with First Abu Dhabi Bank and Visa.

The workshop featured a comprehensive analysis of and recommendations for integration of financial literacy and education in the UAE, based on an extensive study conducted by Aflatoun, which has supported over 29 countries in similar efforts globally.

Key stakeholders, including Dr. Sameera Abdullah Al Hosani, Director of Humanities, Curriculum and Languages Department from the Ministry of Education, contributed to discussions aimed at driving meaningful change within the UAE’s financial education framework. This event marked a significant milestone in the unification of financial education strategy, allowing for the exchange of initiatives, ideas, and expertise among important business and educational leaders.

Mohanna Al Muhairi, COO of Emirates Foundation, stated: “This workshop is a crucial step towards enhancing financial literacy across the country . The finalized strategy and action plan developed from this workshop will accelerate the advancement of financial education for all students in the UAE, ensuring the country continues to improve in international league tables and secure the financial prosperity of future generations.
