Last week, we were delighted to host an additional online session as part of our Global Money Week celebrations dedicated to adolescents who couldn’t join earlier sessions due to school commitments. Young participants from across the MENA region joined us, representing inspiring partner organizations:
– Syria – Taatof Foundation for Development and Nonviolent Communication
– Yemen – Success for All Foundation, Yemen Peace School Organization, Sustainable Development Foundation
– Lebanon – The Lebanese Association for Development Initiative (LAD)
These young changemakers have been actively engaged in Aflatoun programmes, including Aflateen, Financial Skills for Peacebuilding, and Project Management, and even participated in the global Students Experience Exchange with Student Lab International (Italy)
What stood out the most?
The powerful reflections shared by youth themselves:
– How Aflateen strengthened their self-confidence
– Their deeper understanding of the balance between rights and responsibilities
– Their enjoyment of active, participatory learning methods
– And their practical knowledge on saving, spending, and setting SMART goals for both their projects and their future.
It was equally inspiring to hear from partner staff, who expressed strong appreciation for the impact of Aflatoun programmes across the full cycle from planning to implementation and evaluation. These moments remind us that when young people are given the right tools, they don’t just learn they lead, create, and inspire.
