Aflateen Training – Social & Financial Education: How to Teach SFE to Adolescents Aged 13–16

This week, 17 youth workers and educators from 10 different countries have come together in Arenas de San Pedro, Spain, to take part in an international training focused on strengthening competences in Social and Financial Education (SFE) for adolescents.

Organised by Asociación Jóvenes Solidarios (AJS) and supported by the Erasmus+ Programme, this training is part of Aflatoun’s mission to empower young people through education that combines financial literacy, social awareness, and active citizenship.

Throughout the programme, participants are exploring the Aflateen methodology, engaging in non-formal learning activities, sharing best practices, and developing practical tools to implement SFE in their local contexts.

The main objectives of the training are:

✔ To strengthen participants’ competences in delivering Social and Financial Education to young people aged 13–16
✔ To introduce and deepen understanding of the Aflateen curriculum and methodology
✔ To promote intercultural exchange and collaboration between youth workers across Europe and beyond
✔ To support the integration of SFE into both formal and non-formal education systems

By bringing together diverse experiences and perspectives, this training contributes to building a global network of educators committed to empowering the next generation.
