From ideas to opportunity: Entrepreneurship fairs in Honduras and Mexico

What happens when a young person has an idea, space to develop it and someone who believes in them?

In May, students in Honduras and Mexico took part in entrepreneurship fairs that showed how education can build creativity, confidence and practical skills for life.

In Mexico, the Entrepreneurship Fair organised by Fundación EDUCA México, A.C. brought together children and young people with innovative projects designed to make a difference in their communities.

In Honduras, an entrepreneurship fair supported by Grupo Ficohsa HN highlighted students who had developed their own initiatives during their learning journey. Their projects reflected growing confidence, independence and the ability to turn an idea into action.

Aflatoun International’s Regional Programme Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean, Rocío Pilar Andía, joined both initiatives and saw first-hand the energy and commitment of participating students, educators and partners.

These fairs reflect a shared belief: young people need more than information. They need opportunities to try, create, make decisions and learn from experience.

Entrepreneurship is not only about starting a business. It is about imagining possibilities, solving problems and taking action. It helps children and young people strengthen the social, financial and practical skills they need to shape their own futures.

We thank Fundación EDUCA México, Grupo Ficohsa HN and the educators who made these experiences possible. By creating space for young people’s ideas, they are helping turn learning into opportunity.
