The webinar features the implementation and impact of the Aflatoun program in rural schools in Maharashtra, India. The program was contextualized as an extra-curricular program for primary school students, and the impact on their skills was examined by randomized evaluation. Speakers will share how the program was designed and implemented, and evidence on how the program influenced children’s confidence, financial skills, aspirations, as well as the role of these skills in fostering foundational learning. The webinar invites anyone interested in the role of life skills in child learning.

The GMW 2026 theme by OECD is “Smart Money Talks” addressing how developments in digital finance and the way young people interact with financial services online continue to evolve. From the influence of “finfluencers” to the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence, young people need tools to identify reliable financial information and advice.
Through this year’s theme, adapted by the Aflatoun movement to “Smart Money Talks by Aflatoun Movement,” we spotlight the power of informed financial conversations.
We’re encouraging young people to:

- Think critically about financial advice
- Build confidence in their financial decisions
- Share knowledge with their communities
