Twenty girls from five schools in Aden, Yemen, helped celebrate the start of the 2026–2027 school year by sharing their learning through Aflatoun Clubs.
Their participation showcased skills and creativity developed through Aflatoun International’s Social and Financial Education and Project Management Programme. Activities included social and financial projects, arts and theatre, and sports, highlighting initiative, teamwork and self-confidence.
The students represented three districts: Al-Mualla, Crater and Khormaksar. Participating schools included Abdullah Khalifa School, Al-Gharbani School, Arwa School, Awsan School and Bazara’a School.
The celebrations gave students an opportunity to bring their learning beyond the classroom and share it with the wider school community. Through their projects and performances, they demonstrated how financial learning can sit alongside creative expression and collaboration.
Aflatoun Clubs provide opportunities for children to explore ideas, take responsibility and work together. Connecting social and financial education with project management encourages students to consider how they can turn an idea into an activity with a clear purpose.
Supported by the Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF), the initiative is funded by the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) and managed by Aflatoun International.
As the new school year begins, these students’ contributions highlight the role of Aflatoun Clubs in encouraging children to participate actively in school and community life.
Thank you to the participating students, schools, SDF and PMIEF for supporting this work in Yemen.
