The world is rapidly changing and becoming more complex. It is more important than ever before that children gain social and financial skills to learn to get along and get ahead in life.
Socially and economically empowered children and young people who act as agents of change in their own lives for a more equitable world.
AFLATOT The early years of a child offer a unique opportunity to shape their development. In the Aflatot curriculum three to six year-olds gather the building blocks of social and financial literacy before they reach primary school.
The 21st century is often described as an age of unprecedented pace of change and uncertainty related to technological evolution and climate change. In response to these challenges and particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, Aflatoun International, with support of the partner network, created the Social Emotional Learning Supplement. This manual, aimed at children in the Aflatoun core programme, provides participants with soft skills, or so-called life skills. With a focus on social-emotional skills, the supplement includes activities to help participants develop their emotional awareness and find tools to become more resilient and work towards their social and financial fulfillment.
“Social emotional learning plays an integral role in a person’s well-being, enabling a balanced and healthy approach to life. Our SEL supplement aims to provide interactive ways to promote resilience through the development of social- emotional skills.”
