ERASMUS+ Project – Strengthening Social Inclusion Through Targeted Measures

The project supports a partnership initiative aimed at supporting innovations in the field of social and financial education of children, their parents and teachers/experts, as well as the exchange of experience between participating partners.

The project increased the competencies of teachers working with target groups. Parents were also involved in direct work with children, which emphasized our belief that they are the most important people in children’s lives who can influence their attitudes and support them in a positive approach to the world.

Thanks to the activities of the project, it was possible to bring a change to education in an area that schools in our countries deal with very rarely or work with only informally and marginally, without setting specific goals.

The project focused on developing the competencies of first and second-grade primary school students, especially their social and civic competencies, through the introduction of the innovative integrated the Aflatoun social and financial education programme in 3 participating countries (Slovakia, Serbia and the Netherlands).

We built the curriculum of social and financial education of this programme on the principle that an individual’s personal, social and economic life are interconnected and that children should be able to pursue their goals and fully utilize their potential, and thus, they should learn about them comprehensively.

The activities in which the children were involved motivated them to learn actively and independently and to want to understand the world in which they live.

What did we manage to achieve in the project?

15 educational institutions from 3 countries – Slovakia, the Netherlands and Serbia – participated in the project. Thanks to 45 workshops, we managed to reach 120 children and 30 parents. We have trained 15 trainers, 60 teachers and other experts. We organized a round table in each participating country and presented the project and its results at a joint conference.
