Working with Aflatoun International has been phenomenal in aspects that spans from career growth, networking and rejuvenated passion for child and youth development. I am honored to work with young people, educators, civil society and governments across Africa in shaping their futures and the future of the continent.
I have gained a considerable understanding of the continent and have a unique perspective of the opportunities that social and financial education presents to end the cycle of poverty in Africa and globally.
Aflatoun International left me with optimism after the Regional and Global Master Training that the real asset of any nation is in its people and the prosperity and success of a country are measured by the standard of education and opportunities available to all its citizens. This resulted in conducting trainings for young people and educators in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Uganda, and Swaziland. This is contributing towards seeking solutions to achieving education, equity and employment for all as espoused by the Sustainable Development Goals.
Child social and financial education provides a backbone for child and youth development. It gives skills for decent work and income, self sustenance by being enterprising, good citizenship and leadership through life skills acquisition. The program help prepare young people across the globe for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Young people put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities. These skills address the many challenges Africa is facing for decades such as poverty and dependence.
