MAIA’s: Three recognitions, but one mission.

What does it look like when financial education reaches domestic workers in Asia, adolescents in fragile settings, and families navigating hardship?

It looks like this.

We are proud to share that Aflatoun International has been recognised at the The Money Awareness and Inclusion Awards (MAIAs) 2026, in not one, not two, but three categories:

Runner-up – Best Non-profit Adult Financial Education Project

With our Brighter Financial Futures programme, equipping domestic workers across HongKong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam with practical skills in savings, remittances, scam protection, and planning ahead.

A huge thank you to our partners in Asia: Center for Education and Development, LeKDiS Nusantara Indonesia Foundation, Make It Right Movement (MIRM), National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO Network), and Uplifters. Your expertise and commitment brought this programme to life.

Thank you Sun Life for your trust and support, which made it possible!

Runner-up – Best Non-profit Project in a Developing Country

For SFE for Peacebuilding, bringing life skills and financial education to adolescents in Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.

A huge thank you to our partners Ibtikar, Mobaderoon, and Sustainable Development Fund (SDF). Your dedication in some of the world’s most fragile settings is truly inspiring.

And to our donor The Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), your belief in this work made all the difference.

Special Commendation – Best Non-profit Project for Underserved Communities For Financial Education of Parents and Caregivers, helping families build long-term financial resilience.

A huge thank you to our partners Pratham Education Foundation, Bal Raksha Bharat, and United Way Mumbai for helping bring this work closer to families and communities.

And to The Human Safety Net, your generosity opened doors for families who needed it most!

None of this happened by accident. It happened because the right people came together: partners who believed in the mission, donors who backed it, and teams on the ground who made it real.

Only together could we make this possible. Thank you so much!

This year’s MAIAs were record-breaking: finalists from 41 countries, 17 categories, and an estimated 3.7 million people reached through financial education.

Congratulations to all finalists and winners. Social and Financial Education changes lives. The evidence keeps growing!
