Aflatoun International started a partnership with Children, Communities and Families Moldova at the end of 2007 when a group of educators came together to discuss the need for Social Financial Education for Moldovan society. The enthusiasm about the programme and the need of improving the understanding of financial issues, which is still low in Moldova, convinced them to introduce the programme, embracing young children, teenagers and also women.
In 2009 the first five schools adopted an Aflatoun pilot project and, after its successful completion, four out of five schools continued the implementation.
Thanks to three partnerships with Indigo centre school, the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES) and the Ministry of Education, CCF was able to embrace the Aflatoun non-formal education and the Aflateen curriculum, alongside guaranteeing access to Social and Financial education to primary and secondary school children.
