CUFA was founded in 1971 and operates in Australia, Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea. Organisation`s mission is to build economic resilience by providing tailored financial support and fostering enterprise development for vulnerable communities across Cambodia, PNG, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. To date, CUFA has positively impacted the financial attitudes and behaviours of over 40,000 children in these regions!
Our Partnership:
The organisation focuses on improving micro-enterprise development and financial literacy through targeted, inclusive programmes based on three financial pillars: earn, save, and invest. In August 2022, CUFA partnered with Aflatoun International to be part of a global movement promoting financial inclusion. They use the AflaToun and AflaTeen curricula to teach financial literacy and social skills to children and teens.
Social and Financial Education is crucial in Cambodia and PNG, where low levels of financial literacy, particularly in rural areas, hinder economic and social progress. CUFA is proud of initiatives like ASPIRE (Australian Social Program for Inclusive Rural Enterprise) in Cambodia, which supports 13 community social enterprises producing hygiene and sanitation products.
Another programme, Pathways Unlocked (2023-2024), supports students in PNG with financial literacy, practical job skills, and connects them to private sector internships.
