Dorcas Lebanon has been operating since 2012 as part of the Syrian Emergency Response in Lebanon and Syria. It is part of the international organisation Dorcas Relief and Development.
The mission of Dorcas Lebanon is to empower not only children and youth but also men and women of all ages. They do that through education, awareness sessions and peacebuilding trainings.
At their community centres, they provide a safe space where children and youth can share experiences and develop new social skills to prepare for the future. Almost 500 children are expected to attend sessions this year.
Our partnership
Although the implementation of Aflatoun’s curriculum has not officially started yet, Dorcas Lebanon is already successfully integrating some of our financial lessons in their PSS and conflict sessions.
When asked what they like best about our methodology they said this – “the diversity of topics and the interplay of social and financial aspects. The curriculum is suitable for participants of different ages and stimulates their creativity and independence,” Dorcas Lebanon staff.
