Partner of the Week: Good Neighbors Tajikistan

Since 1991, Good Neighbors has implemented projects that promote and protect child rights, strengthen global partnership and advocate the rights of the most vulnerable in a respectful and effective way.

Their mission is to make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony. In 1996, they were granted the General Consultative Status with the UN ECOSOC, and in 2007, their contributions where acknowledged granting them the ‘MDGs Award.’

The organisations’ Community Development Projects has a multilateral approach to education, health, sanitation, and income generation. Through these projects, they aim to promote self-reliance and improve life quality.

In Tajikistan, the organization has been working to support civil war orphans in Dushanbe. Currently, they are helping more than 11,678 children in 16 regions through regular sponsors and by conducting various projects for community development.

Aflatoun and Good Neighbors – Tajikistan have been in partnership since April 2018. Already they have implemented several Aflatoun programmes like ‘AflaToT’, which lays the foundation for children to reach their full potential.

Additionally, the organisation organized a summer camp where 480 volunteers learned about social and financial education, gender equality, and explored their rights and responsibilities. These trainers will eventually implement the Aflatoun methodology in their communities and help reach their goal to conduct Aflatoun and Aflateen programmes in 16 regions of Tajikistan.
