Oasis of Hope is one of the newest Aflatoun partners working in Mathare North, a neighbourhood in Nairobi, Kenya. The Christian faith-based organisation provides housing, education, recreation, nutrition and spiritual care to children. Oasis of Hope mainly works with children who have experienced homelessness and live in extreme poverty, who have limited access to quality education, have experienced child labour, poor health, malnutrition, or exposure to substance abuse. By providing a recreational and educational space for young people in difficult circumstances, they battle with the socio-economic challenges of the region that many face.

Our Partnership
Oasis of Hope joined the Aflatoun network in 2024 and started to integrate Social and Financial Education into their programmes. As a new partner they aim to teach essential life skills to children between 3 and 15 years old in order to empower them in taking agency over their own future. By implementing the AflaTot and AflaToun curricula they hope to tackle the socio-economic difficulties, by educating the next generation to be financially smart and socially responsible.
Voices From our learners, teachers and parents
During Global Money Week 2025, students, teachers and parents came together to share with us the impact that Social and Financial Education has had on them; and to talk about some of the activities that they implement to put into practice what they have learnt.
