Partner of the Week: PEP – Pakistan

The Primary Education Project (PEP) – Pakistan is part of the education work of the Diocese of Hyderabad.

PEP is working towards the qualitative improvement of education facilities in marginalized communities in rural Sindh province, transforming the lives of rural communities by providing sustainable and quality education without discrimination, especially focusing on girls.

The aim is helping them rise out of their marginalized state, and enabling them to have an educated, respectable and profitable future. The Organisation is currently working in 96 schools with 3674 boys and 1650 girls for a 5324 total amount of students. Schools are concentrated in 6 different areas of rural Sindh namely Khipro, Mirpurkhas, Khowaja Goth, Tando Allahyar, Tando Ghullam Ali, and Chamber.

PEP is part of the Aflatoun Network since 2010 and in 2017 the Organisation was able to deliver the Aflatoun Programme to 5,277 students (3,616 boys and 1,611 girls) via 117 teachers in all their different schools. They also organized 40 clubs accounting for a total savings of 47,890 rupees.
