Science for Environment Foundation (SEF) is an independent non-governmental not-for-profit organisation in Poland. SEF focuses on sustainable development utilising the scientific and research potential as well as the local resources available. Its strength lies in scientific research and organising activities in the field of youth, local development and alternative tourism.
SEF started with the Aflatoun programme in 2009. They have tripled their number of children last year going from 1,280 Aflatoun children in 2015 to 3,720 children in 2016. 1,311 of them are involved in social enterprises. SEF is implementing the programme through 145 trained social workers, integrated in the programme Choose the future.
