On the 17th and 18th November, Aflatoun participated in the second edition of the Research Days on Financial Inclusion (JRI) in Dakar, Senegal. The 2021 edition of the JRI was organised by the African Center for Advanced Studies in Management Sciences (CESAG) in collaboration with the African School of Economics (ASE), Aflatoun International, and Développement international Desjardins (DID).
Launched in 2019, under the leadership of the CESAG, the first edition of the Research Days on Financial Inclusion (JRI) took place on the sidelines of the financial inclusion week organised by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in the countries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). The event aims to provide a multi-stakeholder framework for discussion and experience-sharing between researchers, professionals and regional or international actors in charge of regulating and promoting financial inclusion. In this sense, the event opens a new avenue that will significantly contribute to improving the quality of scientific production in the field and providing a channel for popularising good practices and innovative knowledge in financial inclusion. Ultimately, its objective is to make the link between financial inclusion and economic development more obvious, by facilitating the understanding of the major issues on financial inclusion of vulnerable populations in the current geopolitical and socio-economic context.
