Start of the Aflatoun International Meeting in The Hague

This morning we kicked off the Aflatoun International Meeting 2016 in The Hague.

From Indonesia to Syria, from Puerto Rico to Swaziland, 200 Aflatoun friends, partners and supporters are here to debate how social and financial education is contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Aside from a focus on the SDGs, partners will share their experiences and lessons learned from implementing programmes around the world.
The conference opened with a welcome video from Aflatoun pupils worldwide. After this, founder of the organisation Jeroo Billimoria gave an inspiring speech on the 10 year history of Aflatoun and invited all participants to make part of the way forward.

Youth campaigner Luvuyo Mandela hosted a penal on how to empower children and young people to create a more sustainable future.

Also well worth watching is the special video message from David Nabarro, UN special adviser on the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, presented for the Aflatoun International Meeting 2016. Watch it here.
