The eight and a half day workshop – Teaching Child Social and Financial Education with Active Learning Methods – ran from 26th of April to Wednesday 4th of May. Its fourteen sessions focused variously on the underlying concepts of Child Social and Financial Education (CSFE), on programmatic issues for participating schools and on the use of a child-centered pedagogy characterized by active-learning methods (see the report below for the full schedule).
Additional time was spent looking at how these active-learning methods could be applied to other subjects in Swaziland’s curriculum. The workshop avoided lectures and Powerpoint presentations in favour of experiential learning, in alignment with Aflatoun Curricula.
